So, before the game I go and generate one of those rosters and load it into Photo Mechanic. It’s amazing and saves a ton of time (totally worth the inexpensive subscription). ![]() To make things easier there’s a service you can subscribe to called “” and it’s for photographers who use the program Photo Mechanic (which used by all pro sports photographers, myself included) and you import this generated team roster into the program and then you just type in the player’s number and it fills in everything for you. I’m going to have to properly identify each player (correct spelling of their name, team, position, and jersey number) for every photo I upload, and describe the action in the shot. Prepping Before You Leave For The Stadium Note the laptops throughout the room, all used for transmitting images during and after the game). LOL!!! There are two rooms like this, side by side. Ahhhh, the glamorous life of a sports photographer. ( Above: Another iPhone shot, this one of the Photographer’s Work Room at Raymond James Stadiums. They have free wireless in the workroom (and now, in the entire stadium for fans as I noticed on Friday), and there are power plugs and a counter to work on. When you shoot an event for a sports wire service, they need the images from the game as soon as possible, and so during halftime I upload half-a-dozen images, and then immediately after the game, from the photographer’s work room at the stadium, I transmit (as it’s called) another 25 or so final images. ![]() ( Above: My new Retina MacBook Pro, shot with my iPhone, but there’s something missing that should be there). We did clean up after ourselves as best we could and put the pool cushions back where the girl had gotten them from.Īnyway, it was a wonderful time! So much better than anything we could have done through the ship where people are herded like cattle. And as they were leaving for the day, they told us we could stay as long as we wished and to just go out through a certain gate! Not sure if they would do that for everyone or if we just met the “looks trustworthy” test. They even brought us out drinks to the pool and put them in the shade for us. Between us we had margaritas, a pina colada, a strawberry daiquiri, and sodas. And it was an open bar the entire time we weren’t being massaged. Then we had the pool (behind the restaurant and beside the room where the massages are done) all to ourselves!!! And it felt great (not too hot or too cold). Then we got massages (two of us in the same room my husband gave me his 30 minutes as he didn’t want a massage) and my only disappointment there was it was a true 30 minutes for my husband’s sister but only 50 minutes total for me. One of the great attractions of diving around Costa Maya is its. The chips were gluten-free (my husband’s sister is gluten issues) and very good with these two dips we made. We were oddly the only ones there so had the whole place to ourselves other than for the workers! It was a terrific private event! We were taught how to make guacamole to each of our own preferences (no cilantro for me, little tomato for my husband, etc.) and ceviche for three people who don’t eat fish (other than salmon for me)! They gave my husband shrimp to cook in lemon juice and the other two of us cooked onions in lemon juice. Outside the restaurant was a nice chalkboard with eight names on it - mine (but not the other two in my party whom I booked for) and seven others. The restaurant truly is only about a block from the port gate getting to that gate from the ship is a far longer walk. We booked this event via TripAdvisor and has no idea it would turn out to just be the three of us (my husband and his sister also went). Highly recommend this for people looking to get away from the crowded excursions offered by the cruise lines. We want to applaud Macarena for her service and the restaurant for its amazing atmosphere. The pool area was available to us and looked amazing but we were having so much fun visiting and eating that we did not use the pool. One did not eat avocado so was taught how to make pico de gallo instead. The other family in our booking was amazing and even had an 8 year old who kept up well. I wanted more spice in my guacamole and was provided with a habanero (no jalapeños, but when in Mexico….). Very informative and catered to our different tastes. After we started the cooking class, we were waited on with endless beers and margaritas. It was a couple’s massage with both of us in the same room. Probably the most relaxing thing we experienced on our cruise. As we waited for others to arrive in our excursion, the staff offered to do our massages. We arrived early and were very courteously greeted and offered a drink. Once we left the port, it was a short walk to the restaurant and the locals were able to point us in the right direction. The walk through the pier area gave us a chance to browse the shops and buy a few souvenirs. Life jackets are provided for the kayaks and must be worn.We booked this through TripAdvisor and came from MSC Seaside ship. Tour is appropriate for guests able to walk approximately 100 yards and for guests using a wheelchair, folding lightweight scooter/electric wheelchair, walker and/or cane with a companion to assist. Minimum age to consume alcohol is 21 years. Meals are not included but can be purchased (at your own expense) - cash in US dollars or Mexican pesos only. To avoid sunburn, bring light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing bring a towel, hat, and reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen (no other kind of sunscreen is allowed in the water). ![]() Splash in the pool or dive in the Caribbean's azure waters, stroll along the endless carpet of white sand, paddle a kayak, relax in a lounge chair or take in the views from the beach bar where the open bar serves up beer, soft drinks, and cocktails. ![]() With macOS 'Big Sur', released in 2020, the App Store arrived with support for Apple Silicon, such as the M1 MacBook Air and M1 Mac Mini, which meant that using these same apps on Mac hardware was now possible. ![]() ![]() If it’s a game, your progress is usually carried over thanks to iCloud. Since the debut of the App Store in 2008, Apple has created a refined ecosystem where you can freely purchase an app on your iPhone, and in most cases, you’ll be able to use this on another Apple device with no extra charge. Hands down, if you want an operating system with a lot of apps, and ones that you can access on multiple devices, Apple is the way to go with macOS. While it’s a confusing mess on iPadOS 16, in macOS it’s actually a useful tool for when you’ve got multiple windows open on your Mac desktop, easily arranging the clutter, similar to the 'stacks' feature for folders and files that first arrived in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Everything feels familiar yet bigger, and you have more power to customize the operating system to do exactly what you want it to do.Ĭompared to Windows, Apple likes to introduce at least three brand new features every year with the objective of improving the user experience and productivity, and Ventura kept this going with Stage Manager. When it comes to macOS however, Apple has been using iOS as its guiding star since the mid-2010s - if you've owned an iPhone or an iPad in the last six years, you'll feel at home in macOS Ventura. In Windows 11, everything feels familiar yet new again, as if Microsoft blew away the cobwebs that had been lingering in parts of the operating system for years. There was a new Taskbar, new ways to customize your theme, and apps were given a fresh coat of paint after years of abandonment.įor years, Windows seemed to be evolving from the theme that Windows XP presented back in 2001, with flat colors and curved buttons, and when Windows 10 arrived, it was mostly a reversal of what Windows 8 brought with its Metro theme. While macOS has seen plenty of piecemeal to its look and apps across the years, Microsoft decided to do one big major redesign with the release of Windows 11 in 2021. ![]() This comes with the added benefit of carrying your progress between devices thanks to iCloud. Chief among these is the Stage Manager tool, a feature ported over from iPadOS which lets you easily manage multiple open apps on your desktop.Īs Apple moved to Apple Silicon in 2020, this means that you can use a bunch of iPhone and iPad apps on your Mac. Ventura wasn't a huge departure for Apple's operating system, but it did add some nifty new features. The new macOS Ventura update does nothing to change this. You access the Finder to manage your files and folders, and the Dock lets you launch your favorite and most used applications in an instant.įunctionally, these aren't dissimilar to the File Explorer and Start menu in every recent version of Windows, but macOS has always made a point of valuing aesthetics and user accessibility more of a priority compare to Microsoft's flagship OS. Yet the foundation is the same, largely unchanged. It was the company's fresh start for what came before, and since then, it's seen moves to different processors and a change in its looks to better reflect Apple's monolithic phone platform iOS. Apple's operating system first debuted way back in 2000, when it was first called Mac OS X, and every release would be named after a different type of big cat. ![]() Java and OpenJDK are trademarks or registered trademarks of Oracle and/or its affiliates.
