We did clean up after ourselves as best we could and put the pool cushions back where the girl had gotten them from.Īnyway, it was a wonderful time! So much better than anything we could have done through the ship where people are herded like cattle. And as they were leaving for the day, they told us we could stay as long as we wished and to just go out through a certain gate! Not sure if they would do that for everyone or if we just met the “looks trustworthy” test. They even brought us out drinks to the pool and put them in the shade for us. Between us we had margaritas, a pina colada, a strawberry daiquiri, and sodas. And it was an open bar the entire time we weren’t being massaged. Then we had the pool (behind the restaurant and beside the room where the massages are done) all to ourselves!!! And it felt great (not too hot or too cold). Then we got massages (two of us in the same room my husband gave me his 30 minutes as he didn’t want a massage) and my only disappointment there was it was a true 30 minutes for my husband’s sister but only 50 minutes total for me. One of the great attractions of diving around Costa Maya is its. The chips were gluten-free (my husband’s sister is gluten issues) and very good with these two dips we made. We were oddly the only ones there so had the whole place to ourselves other than for the workers! It was a terrific private event! We were taught how to make guacamole to each of our own preferences (no cilantro for me, little tomato for my husband, etc.) and ceviche for three people who don’t eat fish (other than salmon for me)! They gave my husband shrimp to cook in lemon juice and the other two of us cooked onions in lemon juice. Outside the restaurant was a nice chalkboard with eight names on it - mine (but not the other two in my party whom I booked for) and seven others. The restaurant truly is only about a block from the port gate getting to that gate from the ship is a far longer walk. We booked this event via TripAdvisor and has no idea it would turn out to just be the three of us (my husband and his sister also went). Highly recommend this for people looking to get away from the crowded excursions offered by the cruise lines. We want to applaud Macarena for her service and the restaurant for its amazing atmosphere. The pool area was available to us and looked amazing but we were having so much fun visiting and eating that we did not use the pool. One did not eat avocado so was taught how to make pico de gallo instead. The other family in our booking was amazing and even had an 8 year old who kept up well. I wanted more spice in my guacamole and was provided with a habanero (no jalapeños, but when in Mexico….). Very informative and catered to our different tastes. After we started the cooking class, we were waited on with endless beers and margaritas. It was a couple’s massage with both of us in the same room. Probably the most relaxing thing we experienced on our cruise. As we waited for others to arrive in our excursion, the staff offered to do our massages. We arrived early and were very courteously greeted and offered a drink. Once we left the port, it was a short walk to the restaurant and the locals were able to point us in the right direction. The walk through the pier area gave us a chance to browse the shops and buy a few souvenirs. Life jackets are provided for the kayaks and must be worn.We booked this through TripAdvisor and came from MSC Seaside ship. Splash in the pool or dive in the Caribbean's azure waters, stroll along the endless carpet of white sand, paddle a kayak, relax in a lounge chair or take in the views from the beach bar where the open bar serves up beer, soft drinks, and cocktails. Then, you'll have the rest of the day to plan and play your way. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the friendly staff and briefed on the resort's services and activities. Just 15 minutes from the pier, this patch of paradise offers a tropical rainbow of white sand, turquoise water and blue sky.
